Walking Into A Jewellery Store

Come on, we've all done it, so I'm sure we can all relate.

Today I was in the city with my family when we passed a jewellery shop. As the girl I am, I was drawn towards the window displays. Soon enough, everyone else was looking too. My father, of all people, was the first one to decide to enter the shop.

It seemed it wasnt just entering a shop - it was more of entering a whole new world. A world where the music always was the finest, a world where everyone spoke with proper language, a world where everyone and everything was amazingly sophisticated.

"Good afternoon, Miss. Are you looking for anything in particular?"

I am 14 year old in a store where the cheapest object is about $1000. DO YOU THINK I'M LOOKING FOR SOMETHING?

"Oh, nothing, I am just browsing."

I continue to walk on and stare admiringly at the perfect sets of jewels displayed in the glass cabinets. "It is so beautiful.." I whisper.

A voice replies from close by. "Why yes it is..." I look up, seeing a sales assistant explaining the finer details of this piece. [Isn't it obvious that I won't buy it?] I stared, nodded when appropriate and kept a strange strange eye contact.

But when my eyes shifted, I noticed something strange about him. What was it? It was perculiar... I kept wondering what it was. And then I saw it. A whole lot of hair growing out of his ear. And of course, now that I had noticed it, I couldn't stop looking at it.

Awkward.
